Worship God. Become Mature Disciples. Carry Christ's Love to the World.

Waxahachie Bible Church exists to glorify God by teaching the Bible and discipling people of all ages to fulfill their purpose in Christ.

About Us

Waxahachie Bible Church was launched in 1981 as a church plant from Midlothian Bible Church. A group of people were interested in seeing a ministry based in Waxahachie that would effectively teach God’s Word from a non-denominational approach. The original motto of the church reflected this need and focus which was “Teaching the Word!” Soon after the church formed they purchased their first property at 1420 W. Ross and launched the AWANA ministry for children. Dickie Dixon was the first full-time pastor and served in that role for thirteen months.

The motto of the church was then developed into a purpose statement tied in with the letters WBC “Welcome people into a relationship with Christ, Build them in their faith to Change their world for the glory of God.” Welcome – Build -- Change became an easy way to capture the ministry and purpose for which the congregation existed. WBC was not just to develop disciples, but disciples who were effectively reaching out to the community and becoming agents of transformation through the Gospel.

In 2009 the current mission statement of WBC was crafted by the elders, staff, and deacons and presented to the congregation which signified another important step in the congregation’s development. It is our hope that our current mission more fully and practically communicates our commitment to the Bible, discipleship, evangelism, and ultimately the worship of God.
